FICTION WRITING

Short stories are an effective way of creating a pause: encouraging people to think about their own behaviours as they move through life.

Heather has had several fiction tales published to date.

Full text can be found by following the links, and sound files will soon be available.

  • Kelly and the Whale - published in Northwords Now Issue 39
  • Calum, the boy who Blethered - winner of the Uist Writing Competition 2020
  • Watching - published in Northwords Now Issue 37
  • The Tale of Finn and the First Uibhisteach - winner of the inaugural Uist Writing Competition 2019
In addition to tales for adults, Heather has written some small tales for wee folk. These are personalised tales that are centred around a sense of wonder for the natural world. These stories encourage wild play, strong imaginations and connection with the wildlife local to you.
